It is a well known fact that the social networking website, Twitter, has become one of the most popular websites staying connected and blogging. There is a list of reasons because of which the website has become admired by many people. It is a simple platform wherein you can send short and concise messages a.k.a. tweets to your devoted followers. Hence, this is a platform where small business owners can easily promote their updates, information and also upcoming business deals to their followers on Twitter.
Mostly the entrepreneurs make a mistake of targeting quantity rather than quality and hence stand out to lose quality when they just want a huge group of followers. These entrepreneurs feel that if they increase the volume of their fan following then their business would be benefitted. However this is not the case, if you have a long list then that might consist of people who are really not keenly interested to buy your products and services.
There are many people who just hit the follow button just for fun. They are not at all interested in the services being offered by you. Hence it would be great if you would stop wanting a long list of followers and wish to get an efficient and effective group of followers that would help you to make profit.
There are people who just wish to follow the trend and want as many followers as possible so that they could make you more popular in an outrageously famous twitter network. According to the statistics, in the month of July the average followers on any account of twitter have increased from 50 to 400. Also, the average number of postings or tweets has increased from 219 to a jaw dropping 620.
But after all the mention of these statistical data, one question still stands controversial, are you sure to receive a great business deal or promising customers through this? Well the true answer to this would be; if the people following you are not interested in your business then all those tweets and updates that you make may prove to be a real time waster. Also, when you have a huge list you have to limit yourself and present a generalized view of all the products and services offered by you. This may make you lose promising customers out of that many, which just blindly follow you. The reason being, promising customers would always look for more detailed description than just a normal brief generalized introduction.
It would definitely take a very long time to reply to everyone and especially those who are really interested in buying your services as it would take time to sort them out of the ones who are there just to while their free time off.
Also it would be very disappointing if more and more people just lean on tweeting such generic and uninteresting posts and information just for the mere reason of acquiring attention. The overall quality of the site would really be degraded if this practice continues.
