Is
rebranding a good idea?
by Maria Johnsen
When competition increases, a company’s sale start to
decrease. These companies usually seek to breathe new life into
their brand through rebranding. In many cases, however, those
expensive rebranding efforts fail to function the desired
business results. You see, sometimes rebranding change signals.
A new image will give a fresh look to company’s brand since
periodically things need to be freshened up. However, a company
cannot expect great things come from launching some new designs
and fresh copy. This is like being dressed up in a new wrapping
and ribbons, you will actually confirm the existing position
you own in people’s minds. As a result you’ll have wasted a
valuable opportunity to change their perceptions.
If producers or sellers rebrand their product and exaggerate in
their renewed branding, their market will not believe in them.
As a result they loss leads and sale. Best
